Looking back at 2014 with Rajan Mahtani

,
 ,
Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is one of the most eminent personalities in Zambia who has dedicated his career towards the development of this motherland. Being the chairman of Finance Bank and the owner of Zambezi Portland Cement Factory, most of his actions are towards offering employment to the locals and establishing better living conditions for them. The year 2014 was an eventful one for Dr. Rajan Mahtani as there were numerous occasions where he was targeted by a group of conspirators, but every time he surpassed the obstacle and regained his fame.

.
The year witnessed some of his remarkable achievements such as Ndola Housing Project, Zambezi Portland Cement Factory and globalization of Finance Bank Zambia. From the perspective of philanthropy, Rajan Mahtani took the initiative of honouring the veterans of war by depositing K 50, 000 in a bank account which could be used by the senior citizens who had fought for Zambia’s independence. The most remarkable achievement of Rajan Mahtani came in November when he announced that his bank is now a public limited company and would be listed on the Lusaka Stock Exchange as well as London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market for the purpose of share trading. December 15, 2014 would be a day to celebrate as well because FBZ will start its operation in Malawi.

However, 2014 did take something really precious from Mahtani. The year witnessed the demise of former President of Zambia, Michael Sata. Sata was not only one of the most prolific leaders of Zambia, but also a close friend of Mahtani.

Looking back at 2014 will always remind Mahtani of the challenges that he had faced this year along with his ability to overcome harsh situation at times.
